Miksang Teacher Hannah Peaty

I live in London and work in both primary education and as a mindfulness teacher for children and adults.

Since a young age I have loved painting and playing with colour, an interest that continues through my painting practice, my work as a teacher, and workshops that encourage people to engage with their senses and experience the world in a playful and creative way.

I have also been fascinated by the nature of mind for many years through my meditation practice, so when I came across Miksang it felt like a natural coming together of many of my interests. Having worked with photography as my primary medium during my Fine Art studies, I was immediately drawn to a practice that united visual exploration with mindfulness and contemplation.

I began studying Miksang in 2024 with Michael Wood and Julie DuBose and was immediately struck by the simplicity and directness of the practice. For me, Miksang is an ongoing journey of discovery- an invitation to slow down and meet everyday experience with curiosity and openness. Through the practice, I continually discover the extraordinary within the ordinary: vivid colours, patterns, textures, and moments that can go unnoticed when we move too quickly through life.

Miksang has deepened my appreciation of the quiet beauty that surrounds us and the joy that can arise from simply seeing what is already here. I’m inspired to share this approach with others and support people in connecting more deeply with their experience.

I particularly enjoy witnessing the moments of discovery that arise when people slow down, become present, and notice what has been there all along.
