Can you recognize the truth of your own experience of seeing, free of concepts and preferences?
Miksang Photography is based on authentic visual experience expressed exactly as seen—True to Life.
By learning to recognize perception beyond thought when it happens, we can begin to develop confidence in the truth that “There is such a thing as unconditional perception that does not come from self or other.”
In this way, Seeing Beyond Thought is not a struggle. It becomes self evident that it is possible to become fully available to see and express our perceptions with a mind of effortless equanimity.
General Information / Requirements
This workshop is confirmed and will take place as planned
• As part of this Six week workshop on Sundays we will introduce you to a series of visual practices developed by Michael Wood called “Settling into Awareness”. As we say in Miksang, “Seeing is a State of Mind.” These practices are the way into direct seeing. You will find them to be amazingly effective ways to develop visual awareness.
• You will be photographing assignments and doing visual exercises during each week. It is important that you have room in your schedule during the week to do the visual practices (around 30 minutes a day) and assignments (around three one-hour periods during the week). Consider this time essential to your learning process.
• You will need to have a good working relationship with your camera or iPhone. We do not provide technical help with all the various models available.
• For more questions about technical, camera, and computer matters, check out Course FAQ’s.
