Margaritaville Each
day of a Miksang class is always a feast of perceptions,
from visual exercises, to wandering around looking
and shooting, and then to our group lunch at a
local restaurant. We always try to land at a place
with either an outdoor patio or lots of indoor
light so that we can continue our field trip experience
right through lunch.
In this particular instance
in Boulder, Colorado, we discovered a wonderful
Mexican restaurant with an extensive Margarita
menu with various visual possibilities. The restauant
was filled with light from windows and skylights.
One of the large margaritas looked like liquid
gold and was particularly brilliant in the sunlight.
Everyone at that end of the table immediately
tuned into this display, and before the owner
of the drink could have a sip, numerous cameras
suddenly appeared out and the qualities of the
glass and its contents were appreciated and photographed.
As I continued to look at this simple drink, so
many qualities became apparent which I began to
see and photograph.
