To me, Miksang is a practice that invites and encourages us to deeply connect with the phenomenal world with a sense of delight, doubtlessness, playfulness, and child-like curiosity.  Through direct perception and non-conceptual participation, we can experience that world, as it is.  With proper discipline, the camera can be our weapon of wakefulness; the shoes we wear to dance in that space.  With each perception, each shot, we could make a proposal to the world, committing to fully explore it and what it means to be alive.

When we are fearless and willing to let go of our desires to manipulate the world or judge everything as positive or negative, we can relax and appreciate the ordinary magic in our world that we often rush past every day.  In doing so, we begin to realize that any perception, any time, anywhere has the power to wake us up, on the spot.  Whether we choose to allow it to do so is up to us.
The beauty and uniqueness of this practice, however, is that we can share our hearts with others and allow them to meet our minds in a pure and authentic way. As Antoine de Saint-Exupéry writes in The Little Prince, "It is only with the heart that one can see authentically.  What is essential is invisible to the eyes."

Miksang brings so much joy into my life daily and I am extremely grateful to the lineage of Miksang teachers for sharing their wisdom and tireless efforts in developing and presenting Miksang for the benefit of others, including: Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche; The Vajra Regent, Ösel Tendzin; Michael Wood; and Julie DuBose.
