Greg Harley

When I first encountered a Miksang workshop, I had very little interest in photography but the promise of increased awareness and enhanced perception of the world around me seemed like a worthy adjunct to my t’ai chi practice. Four days later I had gained a new obsession in the form of contemplative photography.

Four years and several workshops later, the moments of enhanced awareness and perception are still the main goal but, the photographs provide a means for me to relive those moments and share them with others. It's difficult for me to describe in words the sense of joy I derive from looking at a Miksang photograph whether mine or someone else's. As you explore the galleries on this site, I think you'll see what I mean.

"In photography, the smallest thing can be a great subject. The little, human detail can become a Leitmotiv."
