Miksang Instructor - Hèlen A Vink

It was love at first sight. It was instantaneous love - the first day of my first Miksang workshop. Literally my eyes opened, the scales fell from my eyes, and vision dawned.

As a visual artist, it felt like being dropped with a shock out of warp speed, landing in the total freshness and new discovery of pure perception. It is wonderful to walk on the streets so freely with my camera, with no plan other than to fully engage in perception. Often I am not even sure what it is I see - but I am learning to trust, so that I am able to fully express the ordinary magic of things as they are.

Miksang is a great gift as well as a rare skilful mean; a combination of modern Western technology blended with an Eastern approach to perception, and therein, great joy and accessibilty lies. In the process of perception, as well as in the resulting photos, taken by myself and by others, I can see and feel this again and again.

Now, I continue the path of looking and seeing during my everyday activities. There are moments where I am simply stopped by perceptions. There are other moments when I remember that I can see - simply by stopping and being available for endless perceptions.

Intimacy with the world of phenomena is always possible - there is always the possiblity to see, to express, to appreciate.
